![]() January 15-17, 2010 3 Day Studio Landscape Workshop $420 The Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Arts If you are an intermediate to professional artist, you will not want to miss this exciting class held in one of the oldest and most renowned art schools in our country. The class will concentrate on building a studio landscape. We will concentrate on composition; seeing value, color and temperature; paint technique and application; understanding how to use reference materials. ![]() February 1-5, 2010 5 Day Studio Still Life Workshop $575 Chandler Lodge @ YMCA Camp Chandler Located on the beautiful Jordan Lake, north of Montgomery, Alabama, Chandler Lodge will provide room and board for an artist retreat week. This class promises to be an extensive learning experience for the artist who wants to work on the foundation of painting and master how that foundation transfers to all subjects in painting. We will evaluate the impact of simple compositions in a still life. The fee for this workshop includes lunch. 3 Day Landscape Studio Workshop $365 Pla-za Art Supply, Nashville, TN This class starts on Thursday evening with an orientation and slide show of Master Artist works. It is there that Roger explains in detail the techniques and compositions of the masters, to help the student understand the foundation of painting. 22 - 26, 20105 Day Landscape Studio Workshop $575 Montreat Conference Center Montreat Conference Center is located in the beautiful Black Mountains just outside Asheville, NC. This class will expand the intermediate to advanced artist ability to see in the studio as they see in plein air. You will learn to take a small plein air sketch and enlarge it to a studio piece. 24, 2010Lecture, Demonstration & Book Signing 2:00 - 6:00 pm The Centre of the Performing & Visual Arts $30 Newman, Georgia Roger will begin with a lecture and slide show to illuminate how and why the masters throughout history painted to depict their landscapes. Following the lecture, Roger will paint to demonstrate how he captures the landscape with expressive realism and emotion. At the reception you will have and opportunity to meet Roger and purchase his book, "Images of the South". This is the first in a series of books by Roger.
