Registration for all workshops require a 50% deposit with final payment due 45 days before the workshop.

Cancellation Policy:

-Cancellation prior to final payment deadline, the refund will be the deposit amount less $100

-Cancellations after final payment deadline, there is no refund, except in the event your place is filled. If your resered place is filled, the refund will be the amount paid less $100

4 Day Landscape Studio Workshop - $575 

February 21-24

This Studio Workshop will be held in Dot Courson’s new workshop building. Roger will begin with an orientation and slide show of Master Artist works.  It is there that he will explain in detail the techniques and compositions of the masters, to help enhance your understanding of the foundation of painting. 

You will have four days of intensive learning. Instruction will include a small twist using still life set ups. This will be very valuable as Roger transitions you into landscape painting. You will get a good dose of planning your compositions, how to use your reference material successfully, identifying value and color, and how to see as an artist. Roger will demo, and you will have a lot of paint time practicing the techniques you are learning.

The four days will be intensive learning, to include a demo, and a lot of paint time practicing the  techniques Roger will show you.  Instruction will include the importance of simplifying and massing the vastness of the landscape, value and color, and how to see as an artist.

First Brush of Spring - New Harmony, IN

4 Day Plein Air/Studio $575

20TH ANNUAL FIRST BRUSH OF SPRING PAINT OUT

A collaboration between the New Harmony Hoosier Salon and the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association (IPAPA)

This class will be valuable for the artist that wants to create beautiful studio paintings using the information that is gathered on location. The information gathered will include your plein air sketches, photographs, drawings and notes. 

You will have two days of painting on location with instruction on how to create a good composition, capture correct value and how to gather information important to take back to the studio. Following that there will be two days in the studio using the information you gathered outside. Roger will show you how to use that information and expand on it to create studio paintings. You will learn studio techniques that will give your work another push towards excellence.
